I was looking for a lip brush, something I normally don't use, but I had some "empties" and scraped out the leftover, when I realised how much was left in a tube of lipstick.
I needed something to scoop up the leftover lipstick without getting lipstick underneath my fingernails.
I wanted to go for any small flat brush, but decided to give this rectractable brush by Dior a try. There is no Mac in my town, my favourite brush brand, and Mac brushes are usually only available online. So I couldn't check with them before purchasing.
This brush was around 24 euros which isn't crazy, but does it work?
The first thing I noticed was how small this brush is. I know it is retractable, which is handy as when it is closed, a makeup bag can't get dirty. But I was still disappointed by how short it was. It will just disappear in my brush holder.
The brush also rattles a bit, like it was cheaply made. I think there are makeup brushes at the dollar store than are more solid than this one. I also noticed it came in a little plastic pouch instead of a box, as if it is some sort of over the counter Milky Way.
It somehow cakes the lipstick on, despite that it's a very thin brush. It scoops up product too much, like a chop stick, and I can't spread the product very well because the tip is so stiff. The tip is nice for lining though, my lips look kinda bigger.
I think I might just look for a smaller, flat shadow or concealer brush to do my lips.
